Colorful Decor Flair With Nora Fleming Minis
By Jody Leach
A company was started in 2003 with the idea of bringing simplicity to the art of entertaining and decorating. Most people have numerous different platters for various occasions taking up space in their kitchen cupboards. The idea was born of interchangeable decor objects to use on platters. Each of the Nora Fleming Minis are used interchangeably on platters to suit a particular event, holiday or season.
Each of the platters available have a hole into which these toppers fit. They are easy to insert and remove. Purchasing a keepsake box allows them to be organized and stored until used again. Each box holds nine objects and has a lid that opens from the side.
A romantic occasion is taken to the next level with one of these toppers. A cute little champagne bottle is perfect and the label can even be personalized with a marker. A red heart will also add a special touch.
Christmas is a family occasion and a Christmas tree, some berries and holly leaves, a reindeer or a pine cone tipped in snow add to the Christmas spirit. A Santa boot is another item that adds flair to a platter, especially when used to hold decorative toothpicks. Easter is an occasion for celebrating new life and this is symbolized by adding a yellow chick or a polka dot egg. A bunny and three eggs in a nest are other cute toppers bringing spring feeling to an occasion.
Halloween is another holiday where toppers like a witch hat, witch legs, a spider and a creepy eyeball can help to create the atmosphere. A ghost brings back memories of Casper, the friendly ghost. Those with a quirky sense of humor will enjoy one of the newer creations - elf feet with striped stockings. Patriotic toppers like an Uncle Sam hat and a flag are also available and Tiny Tom Turkey dresses up a thanksgiving platter.
Food on a platter can look even more appealing by adding a tiny topper such as a burger. A strawberry shortcake on a platter with a tiny red strawberry is an appealing sight. Long lazy summer days by the pool are made even more enjoyable with platters topped with a beach ball, flip flops or a beach chair. A starfish and palm also fit the occasion.
Birthdays are another event that can be made even more special. A cupcake, a little present or stack of presents is suitable for this. A boy will appreciate a fire truck or various sports items like a soccer ball. A girl will love flowers, a butterfly or a ladybug. One of the first objects to be created was a little, blue bird and this is still a popular choice.
The lovely colors and care taken with all the fine details make these toppers colorful, fun additions for all types of occasions. A sombrero or cactus fits in with a Mexican theme, a pile of books adds interest to a platter for a book club evening. Add sass to a platter for a girls night with a high heeled shoe. These items are available from a great variety of outlets, including many online retailers.
