Long Island SEO & Details On Facebook's VR Endeavors
By Rob Sutter
It was a number of months ago that Facebook acquired Oculus, which was tremendous in its own right. Given the fact that the latter company was responsible for the Oculus Rift, it's clear that Facebook recognized its value at the onset. As far as the details of this purchase were concerned, though, very few people were unaware of the motives. However, those who specialize in Long Island SEO may be curious to know about the details mentioned just recently.
Business Insider put forth a piece that talked about the acquisition of Oculus, done by Facebook. Specifically, it detailed the reasons why this was done in the first place, the most prominent being the fact that computing platforms have changed so much over the course of time. According to Facebook VP of content and partnerships Dan Rose, these platforms could shift to become closer to our own bodies. Suffice it to say, this is where the Oculus Rift would come into effect.
If you are curious as to how the Oculus Rift began, consider the fact that it originally surfaced as a lucrative Kickstarter project. With a lofty goal of $250,000 to start, it wound up more than surpassing said goal with nearly $2.5 million to make use out of. What this shows, at least to me, is that there is an interest in the field of virtual reality. This isn't a point of interest for gamers, either, as it seems like technology enthusiasts of all interests can make use of it.
I am sure that anyone can agree with the fact that the Oculus Rift has expanded quite a bit, in recent memory. What started as a tool for video games has grown to include other fields of marketing, which is a point that firms such as fishbat will be unable to disagree with. It also shows the kind of influence that Facebook can have, outside of the work that Long Island SEO and web marketing entails. Technology is expansive and the growth of the Oculus Rift showcases this.
What is going to happen once the Oculus Rift is available across various stores? My only guess is that gaming and technology, in general, are going to be expanded tremendously, which is something that I am looking forward to seeing. It's also worth noting the fact that communication is going to be a focus, at the hands of Facebook, which is a tremendous point not to be taken lightly. In time, to my perspective, this acquisition will prove to be even more rewarding.
